In its short history, Social Venture Partners Calgary has invested in 10 non-profits who are focused in the area of children and education. We have contributed over $1 million since 2000 and thousands of hours of expertise of our Partners and their networks.

The focus of our assistance is capacity building. We believe that by helping non-profits strengthen the foundations of their organizations, we allow them to improve the programs they run to help the many needs in the community. Our Partners contribute their skills in strategy, finance, accounting, law, marketing, communication, technology and more.

Our investment process is currently annual, and rigorous. As part of their learning, a new group of Partners comes together to form an Investment Committee. Together these Partners learn about the needs in the community, and begin the process of evaluating applicants. We invite qualified non-profits to apply. Learning who you are helps educate our Partners about the needs in the community.
