How to Be Supported
It takes time to find a nonprofit that will be the right fit.
Beginning in October of each year, SVP Calgary's Investment Committee researches the most pressing concerns within the Calgary community. This research guides the grant-making priorities for the year. Local non-profit organizations working within the designated priorites areas are then invited to submit a letter of inquiry (LOI).
Following review of the LOIs, the Committee determines a short list of applicants who are invited to submit full grant applications. Successful Investees are chosen from grant application reviews and site visits.
General requirements for funding eligibility:
- Serve Calgary and area communities
- Serve children and youth between 0-18 years
- Have some education focus
- Be a registered Canadian charity
Social Venture Partners Calgary does not consider funding requests from individuals, religious organizations for sectarian purposes, sports teams, or political organizations.
Thanks to all everyone who supported and applied for our 2010 Investment. Our Committee is hard at work and we look forward to annoucing our new Partnership in June 2010.
If you know of a great organization, please let them know about SVP Calgary. We will begin our next round of funding in January 2011.
