SVP Calgary is thrilled to pass along a huge announcement on behalf of our investee, Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary (BGCC). BGCC announced they will be merging with Aspen Family Services to create a new unified organization that will serve Calgary’s vulnerable children, youth and families in a visionary way. Together these organizations have over 120 years of service to Calgarians, tackling issues that include youth and family homelessness, social isolation, parenting and child intervention challenges, and poverty.
Last year, BGCC served nearly 4,500 children and youth, and members of their families. Aspen served 4,400 children, youth and parents, and welcomed an additional 30,000 individuals who accessed services in their community spaces. The new organization will leverage strengths of both parties and create enhanced service delivery to meet the evolving needs of the current population.
A big thank you and congratulations goes out to our SVP Calgary BGCC Investee Project Team. These Partners worked closely with the leadership team at BGCC on their “ask” to private and family foundations for financial support of the due diligence and integration phases of the merger.
